May 5 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Bring your green thumb and/or your current plant issues. This monthly group shares practical tips, pictures of favorite plants and news of newly acquired plants. This discussion group is for anyone who loves indoor plants and meets the first Tuesday of the month.
The May meeting features David Shegan, who will speak about The Beauty of Bonsai. Bonsai is the ancient Japanese art of growing and training miniature trees in containers. “Bon” refers to a tray or shallow container, while “sai” means to plant or grow. Bonsai represents horticulture, artistry, and philosophy combined. David will describe how he has grown Bonsai trees for over 30 years, show slides and examples from his beautiful bonsai garden in Baltimore, and show how you can begin to enjoy this art at home.
