General Interest Clubs
Bykota offers clubs to meet just about every interest. However, if you have an interest that isn’t represented here, it isn’t hard to start a new one!
Bykota Book Club Butterflies
Have you ever finished a great book and wished you had someone to discuss it with? The Bykota Book Club Butterflies is the perfect place to share that experience. Connect with fellow readers to exchange ideas, gain new perspectives, and discover books you might never have picked up on your own.
Along the way, you’ll sharpen communication skills, build confidence, and explore meaningful social themes—all in a welcoming and supportive environment. Whether you’re a lifelong reader or rediscovering the joy of books, this club offers a place to grow and connect.
Come for the books. Stay for the conversation.

Houseplant Club
Kermit the Frog once said, “It’s not easy being green”—and every houseplant would agree. Whether your thumb is green or not, the Bykota House Plant Club is here to help your indoor plants thrive. In return, your plants will reward you by purifying your air, lowering stress, and lifting your spirits.
Learn how to care for houseplants, identify and treat common pests and diseases, and propagate your favorite cultivars. Share your successes (and the occasional flop), swap tips, and enjoy the company of fellow plant lovers.
First-time visitors receive a free houseplant!

Maryland History Club
History lives in all of us—and as seniors, we’ve lived through enough of it to be experts. Each month, members of Bykota’s Maryland History Club come together to share stories, present research, and uncover new insights about the events that shaped our state.
It’s where personal memories meet historical moments. Maybe your family is tired of hearing about your 1964 Pontiac GTO—but in the History Club, that story becomes part of Maryland’s living legacy.
Come for the stories. Stay for the history.
